At the request of Senators Katie Muth and Tim Kearney, the Senate Democratic Policy Committee will hold a Policy Hearing focusing on addressing the institutional and societal rape culture epidemic, and how we must change the system to ensure all victims have a pathway to both justice and healing, and increasing institutional and individual accountability.

Senator Katie Muth is teaming up with Sewa Diwali, a non-profit service organization giving back to our community both locally and internationally, to host Diwali food drive in celebration of the Hindu Festival of Lights.

We will be accepting donations of non-perishable food now until Friday, November 15th at the district office located at: 338 Main Street, Royersford, PA. Donations will benefit food pantries in the 44th District.

Senator Katie Muth will be hosting the Greater Philadelphia Veteran's Expo. This is open to all veterans along with family members. The purpose of this event is to offer resources and services accessible through state agencies, local organizations and businesses that would be of interest to veterans and their families being held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

Lunch will be provided to our veterans and one of their guests.

The Senate District 44 Office is holding its first annual Lights and Display Contest for residents of the 44th District.

If you go all out to decorate your home for the Holiday season we want to see your hard work!

The contest will run until December 25. To participate in the contest, please send us your address to events44@pasenate.com and we will stop by during the Holiday season to view your lights display.

Please also acknowledge in the email that we are able to feature your home on our social media pages. We will only share the municipality that you live in, no names or addresses will be publicly shared.

Pa. just eliminated general assistance. The need for it hasn’t gone away

This week marks the end of General Assistance (GA) as we know it. The life-saving program that has helped thousands of Pennsylvanians get back on their feet and bridge the gap to self-sustainability ended on Aug. 1.

After a difficult battle through the legislative process and an underhanded maneuver to tie the elimination of GA to millions of dollars of hospitals, we accept that the program will cease to exist. However, that does not mean that the need has vanished.
