Royersford, PA − Enero 11, 2019 − Senator Katie Muth announces that Chester, Berks, and Montgomery Counties will receive grants totaling more than $350,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.  The grants connect businesses and schools to provide students with job training for high growth careers in Pennsylvania.

Senator Muth stated, “I am so excited to see the investment that Pennsylvania is making in students interested in technical education opportunities.  These grants will help ensure that students are learning the skills that will help them succeed in their chosen career path by providing them with work-based learning experiences.”

Local industries in the tri-county area will benefit as students will receive training and career networking skills that are highly sought after in high growth jobs in Pennsylvania.

The Chester Business-Education Partnership of Chester County received $150,000. This grant will provide students, educators, and employers with innovative programs and workshops designed to increase awareness of skilled positions in technical careers. Key partners include the Chester County Intermediate Unit, county school districts, and other stakeholders.

The Career Ready Berks Alliance of Berks County received $130,000 to benefit the growth of the Career Ready Berks Pathways Alliance. This will augment an existing framework of programs within Berks County, and affect stakeholders including the Berks County Intermediate Unit, the Reading Area Community College, and the Manufacturers Resource Center.

Montgomery County’s Montgomery Business-Education Partnership received $87,975. The funds will be used by the MBEP as they work to provide training, activities, and information for the implantation of their Career Education Work Standards for participating schools and institutions. They will involve post-secondary institutions, parents, and the business community. Montco Works’ priority is to develop career awareness in each Montgomery County school district.
