Royersford – September 11, 2019 – Sen. Katie Muth (D-Berks, Chester, Montgomery) is informing municipalities and local organizations that applications for multi-modal transportation projects are now being accepted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) until November 8, 2019.

“Multi-modal transportation is extremely important to our communities,” said Muth. “The funding through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund has helped improve sidewalks, bicycle lanes, crosswalks, and many other transportation projects that greatly benefit the 44th District.”

Municipalities, local governments, business/non-profit organizations, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, public airports, airport authorities, and ports and rail entities are all eligible to apply for funding assistance through the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF).

PennDOT evaluates and approves applications based on a project’s safety benefits, regional economic need, and operational sustainability.

Approved projects are expected to be awarded funding in July 2020.
