ROYERSFORD, June 14, 2023 – State Senator Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) and state Rep. Kristine Howard (D-Chester) today announced that they are partnering with West Vincent Township to host a free Community Shredding Event next weekend for area residents.

The shredding event will take place on Sunday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at Ludwigs Corner Fair Grounds (1326 Pottstown Pike, Glenmoore). There is a three box limit per car. This event is first come, first serve and when the truck is full, the event will end. All shredded paper will be recycled by the contracted local shredding company, Wiggins Shredding.

The event will also feature an opportunity to recycle or safely dispose of household batteries. The West Vincent Sustainability Committee will have a table set up to collect household alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D and 9-volt with taped over terminals), button cell batteries, cell phones, and tablets.

Rechargeable batteries will not be accepted during the event but can be dropped off at various retailers in the region including Home Depot an Lowes. Automobile or motorcycle batteries contain electrolytes and should be taken to a local auto repair shop.
