Harrisburg – December 9, 2020 – State Senator Katie Muth (D – Chester, Montgomery, Berks) announced today that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has awarded $5,869,603 to non-profit, governmental, and community organizations to organizations in Chester, Montgomery, and Berks counties.

“Funding for domestic violence prevention and victims services is absolutely critical and I am extremely grateful that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency has awarded funding to support those in need throughout Chester, Montgomery, and Berks counties,” said Senator Muth.  “During the ongoing COVID pandemic, these funds will go to support vital services in our communities and will ensure non-profit and community organizations will be able to continue to help so many throughout our region.”

The grants were administered by PCCD through various programs including coronavirus relief, violence prevention initiatives, and other federal programs. PCCD awards funding throughout the year to support public safety and justice programs across the commonwealth, which help ensure our communities remain safe and secure and victims have access to support services.

Organizations awarded grants include:

  • Chester County was awarded $107,132 for coronavirus emergency supplemental relief.
  • Montgomery County was awarded $158,375 for coronavirus emergency supplemental relief.
  • Berks County was awarded $90,197 for coronavirus emergency supplemental relief.
  • Chester County was awarded $533,144 for improvements of Adult Probation services.
  • Montgomery County was awarded $705,061 for improvements of Adult Probation Services.
  • Berks County was awarded $454,448 for improvements of Adult Probation Services.
  • Berks County was awarded $115,063 for opioid related prevention efforts.
  • Chester County was awarded $124,992 for violence against women prevention training and efforts.
  • SAFE Berks was awarded $125,000 for violence against women prevention training and efforts.
  • Berks County was awarded $528,832 for victim and witness assistance.
  • The Crime Victims of Chester County, Inc. was awarded $698,379 for victims services.
  • Domestic Violence Center of Chester County was awarded $55,014 for providing rights and services to victims.
  • Berks County was awarded $214,362 for juvenile probation victim and witness assistance.
  • Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc. was awarded $343,686 for providing rights and services to victims.
  • Montgomery County was awarded $801,934 for victims rights.
  • Women’s Center of Montgomery County was awarded $91,650 for the Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project.
  • Montgomery County was awarded $262,957 for victims of juvenile offenders.
  • Opportunity House was awarded $47,000 for ongoing service and operating efforts.
  • Chester County was awarded $318,377 for crime and delinquency support services.
  • Chester County was awarded $47,000 for children advocacy efforts.
  • Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County was awarded $47,000 services for child abuse victims.
