PITTSBURGH, January 26, 2024 – The Senate Democratic Policy Committee will travel to Pittsburgh next week to host two events to highlight the successes of Pennsylvania’s groundbreaking Whole-Home Repairs Program. Less than a year after the distribution of funds, the Whole-Home Repairs program has already facilitated the repairs of hundreds of homes and changed thousands of lives, including many in Allegheny County. 

First, on Friday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Oliver Borough, Senator Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) and Senator Nikil Saval (D-Philadelphia) will host a press conference at the home of an Allegheny County resident whose home was repaired through the Whole-Home Repairs program. Participants will include Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato; U.S. Representative Summer Lee; state Rep. Jessica Benham; state Senator Lindsey Williams; Dan Sullivan, Housing Stabilization Program Manager, Action Housing; and the homeowner who benefitted from the program. Following the press conference, the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, including Committee Chair Senator Katie Muth, Senator Nikil Saval and Allegheny County state Senators Lindsey Williams, Wayne Fontana, and Jim Brewster will co-host a public hearing to provide an update on the rollout of the Whole-Home Repairs program. The hearing will be held on Friday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gold Room on the 4th floor of the Allegheny County Courthouse located at 436 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219. The hearing will also accommodate virtual participation, and anyone interested in watching on Zoom can click here to register.

The hearing will feature two panels of testimony that will include discussion on the impact and success of the Whole-Home Repairs program in Allegheny County and about how the program has rolled out across the Commonwealth.
