ROYERSFORD, December 12, 2025: State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) today announced that entities across Senate District 44 have been awarded over $4 million in funding through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).

“This over $4 million investment in our communities and in our regional service providers will help improve outcomes for so many individuals and families dealing with the impacts of domestic violence, substance abuse, and other mental health issues,” Muth said. “I appreciate the continued work of our counties, municipalities, and service providers for their work to help individuals who are in need of resources and support.” 

The PCCD met earlier this week to approve funding from several different state and federal programs. The following initiatives were funded across Chester, Montgomery and Berks Counties:

Chester County

Federal FY2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program

  • Chester County received $192,889 for a project focused on a public health approach to suicide prevention.

Federal State Opioid Response Grant IV Funds

  • Chester County received $499,970 for the Chester County Prison Medication Assisted Treatment Enhancement Initiative.

Federal Victims of Crime Act, Crime Victims Services and Compensation, and Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds

  • The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County received $331,681 in funding for their Rights and Services Act and the Victims of Juvenile Offenders 2025-26 programs.
  • The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County received $26,126 to provide services for survivors of domestic violence.

State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds

  • Chester County received $50,000 for the county Children’s Advocacy Center assistant.

State Medical Marijuana Enforcement Act Funds

  • Phoenixville Borough received $23,144 for drug recognition expert training.

Montgomery County

Federal FY2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program

  • Montgomery County received $181,001 for the county firearm suicide prevention and postvention program.

Federal State Opioid Response Grant IV Funds

  • Montgomery County received $382,284 for the expansion of the recovery and reentry supports program.
  • Gaudenzia received $500,000 for the Diagnostic & Rehabilitation Center One-Stop-Shop Initiative.
  • The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth received $500,000 for their collaborative community response to opioid and substance abuse.  

Federal Victims of Crime Act, Crime Victims Services and Compensation, and Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds

  • Montgomery County received $315,333 for the Rights and Services Act and the Victims of Juvenile Offenders funds for the District Attorney’s Office.
  • Victim Services Center of Montgomery County received $117,736 for the Rights and Service Act.
  • Montgomery County also received $111,032 for Victims of Juvenile Offenders and the Juvenile Probation Office.
  • The Women’s Center of Montgomery County received $28,416 for the Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project

2026 Federal Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Funds

  • Montgomery County received $199,800 for the expansion of the opioid use disorder/substance use disorder medication assisted treatment program.

State Endowment Act Funds

  • The Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center received $49,960 for the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training for accessible care.

State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds

  • The Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center received $50,000 as one of the National Children’s Alliance members.

Berks County

Federal Victims of Crime Act, Crime Victims Services and Compensation, and Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds

  • Berks County received $352,607 for the District Attorney’s Victim/Witness Assistance Unit.

Federal STOP Violence Against Women Act Funds

  • SAFE Berks received $125,000 for the Berks County STOP Team 2025-2027.

State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds

  • Berks County received $50,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Center director salary and operational expenses.
