ROYERSFORD, September 19, 2024: State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) today reminded high school students across Senate District 44 that her office is accepting applications for the Youth Advisory Council program which engages students in state government policy and issue advocacy. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, September 30, 2024.

Now in its second year, the Youth Advisory Council will bring students together to discuss, learn, brainstorm, strategize, and implement ideas and plans to advance public awareness on state government issues. Participants in the program will learn about the history of Pennsylvania’s state government and what is happening today, and how they can drive change to make our state a more equitable, fair, and safe place for all to live, work, learn, and recreate. The program will consist of monthly virtual meetings, regular meetings with the senator to advise her on legislative and local priorities.

The Youth Advisory Council is open to current sophomores and juniors from all high schools in Senate District 44 and will provide students an opportunity to contribute their insight, perspectives, and recommendations on issues directly impacting their communities and schools. The Youth Advisory Council is open to students at Coatesville, Downingtown, Great Valley, Octorara, Owen J. Roberts, and Phoenixville in Chester County; Methacton and Spring-Ford in Montgomery County; and Twin Valley and Daniel Boone in Berks County.

Applications from students will be accepted through September 30th, 2024, by clicking the link on the homepage of www.SenatorMuth.com or at this link.
