ROYERSFORD, November 1, 2024 − State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) today announced that two Senate District 44 projects in Montgomery County have received $2.5 million in grants through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

Lower Providence Township received a $1.5 million RACP grant to assist with the construction of a new administration building at the Township municipal campus. The new building will house the Township’s administrative functions and have dedicated, separated space for the Township Police Department.

Upper Providence Township received a $1 million towards their Public Works Building Safety and Relocation Project. The project will involve site preparation and construction of a new public works building at the future public works and fire and emergency medical services campus at 1341 Black Rock Road in Phoenixville.

“This investment of $2.5 million in the SD44 part of Montgomery County will make such an impact in the delivery, efficiency, and availability of emergency services and public safety in Upper Providence Township and Lower Providence Township,” Muth said. “State investments in infrastructure and public safety are essential for improving emergency response capabilities and ensuring that vital municipal services are centralized and accessible to meet the growing needs of residents.”

RACP is a commonwealth grant program administered by the Governor’s Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic and community development improvement projects.  The program requires a dollar-for-dollar match in non-state funding in the project and all project related expenses must be incurred and satisfied in advance of approved reimbursements from the state.
