HARRISBURG January 17, 2025 − State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) has been reappointed as Democratic Chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee for the 2025-26 legislative session. 

Senator Muth has served as the Minority Chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee since 2021. 

“I am honored to again serve as Chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee where I can advocate for our veterans, our National Guard members, our first responders, and all emergency personnel,” Muth said. “I look forward to continuing to work on initiatives that ensure our veterans have access to appropriate programs and services that help them in all phases of civilian life; ensure PA’s National Guard continues its legacy in having one of the largest and most skilled Guards in the country by enhancing benefits and opportunities for Guard members and their families; and bills that ensure our first responders have adequate funding, access to mental health services, and the tools they need to serve and protect our communities.” 

In addition to serving as Minority Chair, Senator Muth will also serve as a member of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee; Finance Committee; State Government Committee; and the Community, Economic, and Recreational Development Committee.

The Senate returns to session later this month on Monday, January 27 at 1 p.m.
